Income Protection

Paramedics Income Protection policies are available with a few insurance providers with an own occupation definition. You should place your application with an insurer who offers an own occupation definition for the policy with your occupation. If your policy comes with a suited occupation or any occupation definition, then your claims will be reviewed on your being able to perform any like job to that of a paramedic, or any job at all. These definitions are not ideal as they make it more difficult for you to secure a claim if you are unable to work. Our financial advisers can ensure that your application is placed with the correct insurer to enhance your chances of being offered an own occupation policy.

Income Protection for paramedics will come with a deferment period of 1 day, 1 week, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 13 weeks, 26 weeks or 52 weeks. This is the set amount of time that you must wait for your policy payments to start from the time that you are unable to work. During the application process you should consider any employment benefits, savings and budget that you have which could help you determine which deferment period suits you best. Our financial advisers regularly help clients to determine which deferment period best suits their individual circumstances and we are happy to discuss the benefits of different options with you.
